CAMH Pussy Installation Appointment results
So I had my CAM-H appointment yesterday. Despite being left to wait for 45 minutes and then having the intern come up and be surprised to see me, it was alright. It turns out that the receptionist didn't come to work, and both the one person and the Dr. Brown herself didn't bother to let the intern know I was waiting. Dr. Brown even told me she would be there in a few minutes, but according to the intern, nobody contacted her, and she thought I was a no-show. What. the. fuck.
The appointment itself was fine. I got good information, provided my "real life" gender experience documents. That means they took photo copies of my newly changed ID, pics of me in various social situations, a letter from my employer stating I'm living it lady fabulous, etc.
I asked why I'd been called in only 4 weeks after my referral. I had heard it would be 1.5 years. She said I already had my 1.5 year wait, that's for intake. I did that in 2010 when my Doctor accidentally sent me there. So my appointment was a follow-up, mostly to update my file, check on my progress. My progress has been significant.
So while she couldn't say one way or the other whether I'd be approved for SRS, she did say that my case would take about 6-8 weeks. If I were to receive approval, I'd be called in during the summer for the approval follow-up, and then its up to the wait list for the Doctor. I could have a pussy by winter.
I've heard concerns from many of you that you will miss my little limpstick and that I'll lose something special about me. It certainly weighs on me. I gain a lot, though, including a continued sense of congruence with my body, and another whole for you to put your cocks. Updating Birth Certificate Details
Hello lovelies! I've updated my driver and health cards now. That was much less of an ordeal. It still involved me losing a day of work and travelling to two different locations before I would get assistance, but it's done now, and it didn't cost me anything!

Sorry to bother, but I'm starting the legal process of my transition and wanted to ask if you could post whether you were somehow able to get your name and gender marker changed simultaneously and if so how you did it, because I thought you had to do name and then gender marker afterward. I'm also in Ontario. Thanks in advance!
I was able to get both my sex designation and legal name changed on my birth certificate at the same time, yes. I submitted the package in it's entirety. It's going to cost about $300, including cost to mail priority (which you may not want to do, but I sure wanted that updated fast). The cost also includes $50 for the two notarized affirmations you have to make.
In addition to that, you need to get several guarantors, provide all original documents, and provide a letter from your Doctor (or someone else I'm not sure, I used my Doctor) explaining why you need this. If you want them to rush it, you'll need a corporation or Doctor to write a letter saying so. I used the former because a job opportunity that was time sensitive and travel dependent came up, but they said if you want to have a Doctor rush it, you'd pretty much need to be having surgery immediately.
They suck, so make sure you very clearly document everything. In an effort to be helpful, I've got the links you'll likely need below:

Officially a Girl
Hello lovelies! I am so happy to announce that my legal name and sex designation changes have been completed. My birth certificate now, correctly, says Mei Innana and that big sexy F for Female!
It was a long process. When last we left off, they had lost my information for 7 weeks, rejected me based on an application error, and refused to rush my application upon its return. All that and they destroyed my birth certificate without replacing it!
My employer was very kind to write a letter of urgency (the only person they respect is a corporate entity, thanks Government) and away it went. I have it in my hands now, and I have to say its pretty great!
The next step will be to update my Service Ontario ID: Driver's License and Health Card. I'm not really sure where the Social Insurance Number comes into play. Maybe at the same time.
Once that's all done, I update my creditors, the businesses I hold accounts with, banks, utilities, insurance, etc.
I'll keep you posted and I'm so glad I have you to share this news with!
For ease and comfort, I'm going to compile my transition related blog posts into a downloadable kindle book that you'll be able to pick up on Amazon. I'll let you know when its ready, but I thought it might be something handy to have.

Life Changes

Amazon Published
I received some wonderful advice from nomdefemme and so I've decided to publish my erotica with Amazon's Kindle site. I'll be adding each of my existing stories, as well as new stories you haven't seen but I've been keeping safe.
The cover art is probably my favourite part. I picked up some stock photos from istock and using Photoshop threw together some expressions of what the stories mean to me. Changing ID in Ontario Canada
I'm guilty of not posting frequently enough for awhile now. The concern is, sometimes I don't feel sexy and I question whether I should be posting non-sexy blog entries. Then again, I guess the point is to give a glimpse into what my life as a transsexual woman is like. To that end, I'll fill you in on getting my name and sex designation changed on my birth certificate in Ontario...
I'm in the process of changing my identification and sex designation on my birth certificate with the Office of the Registrar General. Their office is in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
On December 14th I had Canada Post sent the package of my application, original birth certificate, and credit card information with priority to the Office of the Registrar General in Thunder Bay. I had been patient, but on January 30th I contacted the Registrar General's office to check on the status of my application. The processing time quoted is 6-8 weeks, but speaking to Donna, she said that my package was not in their system. She said I should check to see whether Canada Post delivered it.
I confirmed on January 31st that my package was delivered on December 17th.
I called the Office of the Registrar General again, and spoke to Risa. She confirmed my package was not in the system, but she created a ticket and told me to expect a call in the next week on the subject.
February 4th I spoke again to Donna, who informed me my package has been rejected due to guarantor. I asked why it had taken 7 weeks before they found my package. Donna, contrary to her previous statement, said they always had the package, and 7 weeks is inside the normal processing time of 6-8 weeks. She contradicted her earlier statement with one that would protect her organization. I specified in a letter that I required this to be urgently processed, a service they have that speeds this up to 10 business days. If they had opened the package in the 7 weeks, why had it not been processed in 10 business days? This does not make sense.
When I asked again, she said that in light of the changes the human rights council had imposed, the Office of the Registrar intended to be "thorough" with transgender people. Donna said I would need to make the necessary changes and re-submit. I asked if she couriered the package back to me, as I had paid $12 to courier it to them. She said they did not. They sent it regular mail.
I was being considered for an internal position within my organization that would have been a significant financial improvement. I would have been making six figures. Their poor organization skills have cost me the job, the money, and the ability to better help raise my 2 year old daughter. The position requires a passport, and while my employer was willing to wait for what we expected would be the timeline before, the rejection of this request after seven weeks and sending by regular mail required them to remove me from consideration.
Their contradictory statements make matters worse. If the Office of the Registrar General received my package on Dec 17th, which has been confirmed by Canada Post and reiterated on my 2nd call with Donna, but they did not enter my package details into their system until 7 weeks later... how did they monitor who had access to my identification documents? They have mishandled my original birth certificate, credit card information, as well as several applications with an enormous amount of personal information. To top it off, the package included, by their requirements, two notarized affirmations of who I am and two guarantor statements. Quite bluntly, they received a identity theft treasure chest on Dec 17th and made no attempt to secure and organize the information for 7 weeks!
I am unable to go to a hospital, the bank, leave the country, or do anything that requires proof of identification. Losing my package for 7 weeks cost me a significant career opportunity, but it has also continued a feeling of house arrest in the country I live in. The Office of the Registrar does not recognize any of the above as being proof of urgency without my employer writing a letter, so they ignored the letter I initially included.

This is completely uncool and while I'll be updating the things they need, I still feel extremely uneasy about having them keep my birth certificate... but not have ever entered me into their system. What drawer to they file a birth certificate in if they have no record of my submission?
